Plunk! The sound heard occasionally as a fisherman cast his bait into the water. The speed of the current quickly drew the line away from the man, and he was forced to reel it in time and time again. Sitting with his feet in the water he was staying cool and comfortable, the hat on his head a small blockade that the sun could not penetrate. It was a nice day to be fishing even in under the summer sun, and the stream provided a way to cool oneself off when need be as well as drown out the surrounding noise and stressful thoughts.
This was exactly what Felix needed at the moment. Mika’s day had come and gone, and the kitchen was staffed with so many people that day that he was unneeded and had taken the afternoon for himself. Fishing provided a peaceful time to himself where people wouldn’t bother him to ask for a favor, only the occasional fisherman would come and sit by him. Moving his legs in the water he felt the small mutated fish nipping at him and turned his forest green eyes to the water. Nothing visible, the water must have been distorting the view. Reeling the line in he ran a hand through his red hair and fixed his shirt’s long white sleeves before casting it out once more. The satisfying plunk! made Felix wonder what he would do if he caught no fish that day, but he knew where to cast his line because of his power.
Yes he could sense where things were exactly, but had a fuzzy feeling where the healthiest creatures were and that was where he threw the bait at. Now if only one of them took it…Shaking his head Felix grabbed some food he’d prepared beforehand—a simple sandwich with a few pieces of meat—and ate it while he waited patiently for the fish to bite.
