Felix can sense the health of things around him each with its own level of clarity. He can sense plant life the best, then animals (both mutated and non-mutated), and has a hazy sense of how healthy the people around him are. With plants how knows if they are crawling with bugs or infected with a plant virus and when they are at their ripest, ready to be picked and made into a tasty dish for consumption. He can tell if animals are fit, if they have an adequate amount of fat on them, and if they afflicted with a disease that would make them dangerous to eat. In humans he can’t really sense if they are “healthy” but can tell if a person is in physical pain.

Felix’s favorite color is the deep blue that hinges on purple, indigo, so he wears this color the most. When he’s around town he wears blue jeans and not too loose but not exactly close fitting long sleeved shirts and an open jacket. He dresses to be comfortable and warm, and even in the summer has at least his long sleeved shirts on from all colors in the spectrum. His clothes are of no particularly brand for he is not finicky about his appearance, finding it odd that people would care about it so much when it doesn’t really matter all that much.
His eyes are a soft green and his hair is loose and long, reaching down to his butt. As red as his favorite apple he always says he’s going to cut it because he work in a kitchen but puts it off until later because he’s gotten used to it so long and doesn’t want to change it. He is well built, and gets exercise simply by running around helping people with their various day to day tasks. He wears dark red fingerless gloves to hide the scars on his hands because though he isn’t ashamed of his cuts he doesn’t like retelling how he got them.
In the kitchen he wears the classic chef’s outfit: a navy double breasted jacket with golden buttons and black wrist cuffs, usually rolled back so they won’t get in the way of cooking, a black scarf to prevent neck burns, a white chef’s hat to keep his hair out of the way and to soak up sweat (though he hardly does sweat because he is accustomed to the heat), and black and white checkered pants that are blinding at first but hide stains quite easily. On all his clothes he has a small red apple embroidered on signifying that they belong to him.

- Creative. Ever since he was young Felix has been curious to the world around him, tinkering with his toys to figure out how they worked. This led him to thinking of creating things all his own and, since he had always watched his mother turn simple ingredients into food, he turned to cooking to fulfill his dream. Once given the ingredients he began creating concoctions that varied from adequate to delicious to downright disgusting, and the joy it gave him made him continue until he got a job that would let him create as he pleased.
- Knife skills. Spending so much time cooking he is comfortable with a knife in his hand and can use a machete to defend himself. He keeps a machete as well as a sword at home.
- People person. When things are not so busy in the kitchen or when he has plenty of help Felix goes out and serves people their food personally. Doing this he strikes up conversations about how their day was and how their family members are, and by hearing of how difficult other peoples’ lives can be he has become very empathetic towards them and is a familiar figure in the mess hall.
- Ambidextrous. Always multitasking as a child Felix trained his left hand to work as well as his dominant hand and as he began cooking this became a handy skill for him.
- Jack of all trades. By helping people all the time Felix has become well versed in how their jobs work and can fill in for them if the village truly needs it, but he’s better at some jobs than others. Still he could pass for adequate in most of them.

- Sad people. If Felix sees or hears of anyone being sad in what he considers his kitchen (and mess hall) he will go out and keep them company, offering what he can to make them cheer up even a tad. He doesn’t like when people appear sad or lonely, liking smiles and laughter he can hear from the kitchen to motivate his cooking.
- Temper. If a person comes towards him and talks rudely to him Felix’s temper will flare up and he will reply rudely right back at them. Seeing as they live in a small community he doesn’t see any reason for someone to be rude when they all need to work together to survive.
- Children. Felix cannot resist having a soft spot for children; they are always glad to have someone to speak with about their day and (sometimes) are well-behaved when he serves them, though like children they complain about their food at times.
- Mika. Felix considers his cousin a daughter or sister and will do anything for her, and is highly protective of her.
- The cold. This is merely a preference for warm temperature. Felix cannot stand the cold and, being in the kitchen most of the time; he is used to the heat and abhors the cold.
- Allergies. In springtime Felix, like most people, sneezes a lot because of the pollen in the air.
- Yes man. If people ask for a favor from him Felix can’t say no. On reflex he replies “yes” and then feels awful when he remembers he has prior engagements and has to tell them that.

Felix is a kind person who loves to chat with others. His mother babied her only child, letting him get what he wanted the few times he asked (he wasn’t a fussy child) and his father didn’t seem to mind as long as he got to teach his boy how to fight. Debra was a child watcher and often took Felix with her so he could interact with children his age and encouraged him to talk to others because he was used to be shy. Scotty was a metal worker and often came home smelling like, well, welded metals. His wife usually sent him straight to the bath room before he could even hug his son, not wanting two people reeking in her house.
Although Felix was happy in his home he wasn’t sure that his mother was for he never saw her really smile, even when it was only him and her in the house. Sometimes she smiled but it was a fake half-hearted attempt to quell her child’s worry when he asked her why she never smiled, wasn’t she happy? As he grew older he realized that she may not have been happy with her husband because though he never saw them fight he was always aware that they seemed to glare at each other a lot over the table, and didn’t speak all that much when they were both home. They never let it affect their child, both loving him very much, but he grew to dislike people who were fakes.
When the disease came Felix was left without his parents and was disoriented and confused. The ten-year-old had already been cooking for a year and knew he wouldn’t starve—as long as food was available. This led him to train and become a hunter with some of the older children, specializing in sword combat rather than long distance arrows. Once the animal was taken down he’d cook it with what little help he had while someone watched his newborn cousin Mika before he had to go home and care for her himself, becoming a father at a young age. As he and Mika grew older he taught her how to be self-reliant, cooking and cleaning the house.
