River (Wolf) Waliz

the basics,

»»power:Earth: Animal mind control/ animal speak: River can control canines, speak to them mentally and even have them attack for her and defend her. She has complete control over them, no matter their loyalties. She has abilities to speak mentaly with other animals but can only mentally control canines. If a canine dies while under her power, energy is sucked from her, no more than 2 canines can die in her power before she must sleep, at 3 she collapses, at 4 she will die if left un-tended, her powers go away if three or more die for about a week while her body regains strength. Suprisingly River can also talk and semi-control mutated animals, not fully but enough to keep them from killing a fellow hunter long enough for the hunter to escape.

»»general appearance: Short black hair curls slightly at the end, giving her a frayed look. Her nose is sharp, almost too sharp when her face softens, however when she is angered, her face seems to be all angles, her high cheek bones become more prominent. Blue eyes as clear as a river for which she was named sparkle, often with secret contempt but sometimes, and most beautifuly when she is happy. She wears a long red almost silk scarf around her neck at all times when she isn't sleeping, she says it is to keep others from shooting her when she is on a hunt. A navy blue jacket with golden brass buttons fits her curves nicely, over her hips and about a quarter of the way down her thigh, almost like a short dress. Leather boots in jet black come up to about an inch or two below the end of her jacket, leaving a small amount of black leggings or tights to peak through the gap. Usually she has on a white tank top under this jacket but it is hardly ever seen, along with the few jeans she owns.

»»strengths: Speed: despite the heels of her boots, River can keep up with almost any boy in the hunters. Her legs are long and she covers ground quickly.
Fighting: Thanks to her hunting job, River can hold her own in almost any fight. If she gets over whelemed, she can use her power of animal speech to call Chloe, her black wolf to her side. Smart ones will back up when Chloe appears.
»»weaknesses: Chloe (see secrets) and Rook: Rook was one of River's hunting partners till he was mauled. That hunt was the one hunt River could not go oin because she was sick. She feels that the mauling was her fault because she was one that usually talked enraged mutated animals down and away from hunters.
»»secrets: Chloe, her black wolf is her main secret. All teh children think that Chloe is just a wild wolf who lives nearby that has befriended River enough to let her collar her, but that is not true. Chloe was the first wolf that River ever contacted and that was as a pup. River raised Chloe from pup-stage and in return teh wolf helped River find her powers, and so is a large contributer to River's powers. Kill Chloe and River reacts as if you have killed 3 or four wolves/canines under her power.
»»general personality: River is pretty much all rough edges. She isn't really the type that the children make friends with because of this. However she can warm up to people, and even trust them. However her trust is hard earned. She trusts the hunters because she has to but only on hunts and never at home. No man has had the liberty to be graced with her presence through the night, they always wake up to an empty bed. An early riser, River doesn't stay long in one spot. She is secretive and cold, and sometimes even teasing, she enjoys watching boys get themselves worked up over her then let them fall harsly to the floor. A lot of men say she is just asking to get her heart broken.

River was born into the village a fighter. She got into scraps while under the child care's supervision over apples, toys, and other things. As she grew older River's fights became less frequent but more frenzied. She would begin to draw blood and would sometimes come home bleeding somewhere, and refuse to be patched up. At 6 years old, her parents died with all the rest, leaving her to fend for herself. She never forgave her parents for that, even after being told it was just disease. She began to hate the elders and became a 'lone wolf' of sorts. At the age of 13, she met Chloe, an infant pup. the black wolf pup had wandered out of her den and gotten herself lost, having just opened her eyes. Rivera took Chloe home and nursed her into a rambunctious pup, and set her back to the forest floor. That was when she learned her power, when Chloe told her 'goodbye'.
River developed her skill with Chloe, learning to call farther and farther for Chloe, and sometimes touching other canine minds and calling them to her. She got teh nickname 'Wolf girl' or just 'Wolf' behind her back, and is slowly begining to like the name, introducing herself with such name.
